Where it All Started

After 30 years of working for various engineering firms in the Bay Area, Alonzo Calvin Laws began Laws & 
Associates, Inc as a one man consulting engineering firm.  In 1987, his son Kent joined the firm after
earning his B.S.M.E. from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.  In 1991 Steve
joined the firm and as well as Craig in 1995, both having earned their degrees from Cal Poly.  The firm
focuses on the design of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing
and piping systems.

Being a family owed and operated firm has allowed us to provide personalized service to many
clients in the Bay Area and elsewhere.  Laws & Associates, Inc. has also had the privilege to work with
architects and building owners from the western United States, including Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washington
Texas and Utah.

Laws & Associates, Inc. seeks to focus on integrity in engineering.  This includes looking out for
the best interest of the client at all times, designing projects which are economical, energy
efficient, maintainable, and practical.

Alonzo retired in 2015 and handed the business over to his three sons.

Today they carry on the passion for engineering their father instilled in them.
